Biology:  Explain regeneration and vegetative reproduction.  Also explain the different types of vegetative reproduction and give an example of each. (p636)

A and P:  Read the article on p 571 about "Control of Pregnancy"  and explain the different ways that pregnancy can be prevented.

Med Tech:  Which medical technology has most interested you and explain why.  Give specific reasons for your answer.

Physics:  What 2 things that you learned in this class will be most useful in other courses and/or life?

Astronomy:  Explain what you learned from last class' coffee article.

Zoology:  What advances have frogs made over fish in terms of evolution.  Explain at least 3.

Biology:  Explain the major functions of roots and stems in a plant.  Also explain the difference between primary and secondary growth.  (p. 608-611)

A and P: Explain the phases of the female sex act as well as what menopause is and what causes it.  (p 568-569)

Med Tech:  Give a brief overview of how ultrasound imaging technology works.

Physics:  Explain how parallel circuits differ from series and how the calculation of resistance and potential difference varies with each.

Astronomy:  Do a google search for "Future of Space Travel" and find 3 reliable answers for what the future may hold.

Zoology:  What adaptations have fish evolved that are beyond that of anything we've looked at yet?  Explain at least 3.

Biology:  read section 22.3 (p631) and summarize how seeds can be dispersed and how they know when to begin to grow.

A and P:  What is an oocyte and ovarian follicles?  Explain the development and fertilization of  a mature oocyte.

Med Tech:  Explain the uses of a fMRI, what is most interesting to you and why?

Physics: Explain what a schematic diagram is and some of the objects that are represented.

Astronomy:  How did the first day of working with the second graders go?  What was the best part?  What part was the most challenging?

Zoology:  Explain what you know about amphibians.  How are they more evolved than anything we have discussed to this point.

Biology:  From pages 600 and 602 describe each of the 3 types of cells found in a plant and the 3 types of tissue.  Try to give an example of each as well.

A and P:  Explain each of the 6 functions of the urinary system.  Also, what major organs are part of it?

Med Tech:  Describe the procedure involved in getting a bone scan?  What types of things can it diagnose?

Physics:  Read the article about superconductors on p 603.  Explain what superconductors are and why they are important.  How does temperature play a critical role in their function and what are some of their interesting features and uses.

Astronomy:  What is the hubble space telescope and what are some of the discoveries it has made.  You will need to use google or NASA website for this.

Zoology:  Describe the basic anatomy of an insect.

Biology:  What plants were used to make the clothes that you are wearing and the contents of your folder/backpack/purse?

A and P:  Explain each of the terms:  metabolism, anabolism, catabolism and how metabolism is regulated.  (pp.498-499)

Med Tech:  What is a bone scan and what can it be used to diagnose?

Physics:  Explain what current is and how it can be analogous to water in a pipe.  Also explain resistance and Ohm's law.

Astronomy:  What subject did you choose to share with the 2nd graders and what are 3 things you know about it?

Zoology:  What evolutionary advantages have crustaceans such as the crayfish gained over earthworms?
